Chess Worlds Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 1, 2026

This policy covers Chess Worlds, a chess game published by Best ROI Media LLC for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Android, including its advertising and the optional one-time “Chess Worlds Forever” purchase. It applies to the apps identified as com.mitch.chessworlds. Our Chess Worlds Terms of Use also apply.

Chess Worlds is an offline game: you play against built-in computer opponents, solve bundled puzzles, take lessons, or play pass-and-play with someone next to you on the same device. It has no accounts or sign-in, no online play, and no chat, and we do not collect personal information on our own servers. Your progress stays on your device. Ads, store purchases, and support emails can involve other information, described below.

1. Your game on your device

The app stores your player name and badge (which you choose and which never leave your device), your progress through the worlds, your record and stars against each computer opponent, your estimated rating and streaks, puzzle and lesson progress, saved and unfinished games, hint counts, your board, piece, sound, and display settings, ad timing counters, your consent choices, and a record of your Chess Worlds Forever purchase locally on your device. We do not upload this data to our own servers, and the app does not offer a cloud-save account.

If you choose to share a game (for example as PGN chess notation), the app opens your device’s share sheet and only sends what you pick, to where you pick.

Chess Worlds does not send notifications and does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

Your device or operating system may include app data in a backup according to your settings. Deleting the app removes local progress; backups and store purchase records may remain separately.

2. Advertising, consent, and tracking (iPhone, iPad, and Android)

On iPhone, iPad, and Android, the free version uses Google AdMob to show an occasional full-screen ad between games (only after you leave a finished game’s result screen, never during a game) and an optional rewarded video only when you choose to watch one for an extra hint or takeback. Google and its advertising partners may process IP address and approximate location, device and app identifiers (including, if you allow it, the advertising identifier), device information, ad impressions and interactions, product interaction data, and crash or performance information. This is used to deliver and measure ads, limit repeat ads, prevent fraud, and keep the service working.

Where required (for example in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, and some US states), Google’s User Messaging Platform asks for your consent or offers opt-out choices before ads are requested, and you can review those choices later from the app’s settings. On iPhone and iPad the app then explains, and Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt asks, whether Google may use your device’s advertising identifier for more relevant ads. If you decline or tracking is restricted, the game works exactly the same and ads are shown without that identifier. You can change your choice any time in your device’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads, depending on the device).

The Mac app shows no ads and does not include an advertising SDK.

Buying Chess Worlds Forever turns off all ads once the store verifies the purchase, and the advertising SDK is no longer started when the app launches. It does not erase data already processed by advertising providers.

Read Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and Google’s ad controls for more about its processing and choices.

3. Purchases

Apple’s App Store processes purchases on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, and Google Play Billing processes Android purchases. Chess Worlds Forever is a one-time, non-consumable purchase, not a subscription. The app checks the store’s signed transaction to confirm ownership and to restore it. We do not receive your name, payment-card details, or store password.

See Apple’s App Store privacy information and Google’s Privacy Policy.

4. Puzzles and other content

The chess puzzles come from the Lichess puzzle database, released into the public domain (CC0), and are bundled inside the app. Solving them does not contact Lichess or any other service.

5. Support and website visits

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, and anything you choose to attach. We use this only to respond and fix problems. Please do not send passwords or payment details.

Our website privacy policy covers visits to bestroi.media and is separate from this game policy.

6. How information is used and shared

We do not collect, sell, or share your game data. Advertising providers process the information described in section 2, and Apple and Google process purchases as described in section 3, under their own policies. Advertising-related disclosures can count as a “sale,” “sharing,” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws even without payment; use the consent and tracking choices above or contact us to exercise applicable rights.

7. Retention and security

Local game data remains until you delete the app. We keep support emails only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet legal obligations. Advertising and store providers have their own retention practices and may process information outside your country.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, object to processing, withdraw consent, and opt out of certain advertising disclosures. Contact support@bestroi.media with “Chess Worlds privacy request” in the subject. Because we do not hold your game data, we cannot retrieve or restore it. Contact Apple, Google, or the relevant app store for information they independently control.

9. Children

Chess Worlds is a general-audience game and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can take appropriate steps.

10. Changes and contact

If we add new features, such as online play, we will update this policy before they launch and revise the date above.
