Chess Worlds Terms of Use

1. Your license

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Chess Worlds on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment, in line with these terms and the usage rules of the Apple App Store or Google Play. On Apple devices, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; if it conflicts with these terms, these terms apply to the extent the store allows.

Please do not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or redistribute the app or its art, music, sounds, or text, or use it to cheat in online or over-the-board competitions, except where the law allows it.

2. The game

Chess Worlds is played offline against built-in computer opponents, with bundled puzzles and lessons, or pass-and-play on one device. Computer opponents’ names, ratings, and personalities are fictional, and ratings shown in the app are estimates for fun, not official ratings. Coach hints are suggestions and may not always be the best move.

Your progress is stored only on your device. We cannot restore lost progress if the app is deleted or the device is lost or reset.

3. Ads and Chess Worlds Forever

On iPhone, iPad, and Android the free version shows occasional ads between games and optional rewarded videos. The Mac app shows no ads.

“Chess Worlds Forever” is an optional one-time, non-consumable purchase. It removes ads and unlocks every world right away, and it is not a subscription. The price is shown in the store before you buy and may vary by country. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google; their payment and refund terms apply, and refund requests go to them (Apple, Google Play). You can restore the purchase on another device signed in to the same store account from the app’s settings. On Apple devices one purchase covers iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

4. Content and credits

Chess Worlds, its worlds, boards, pieces, characters, art, music, and sounds are owned by or licensed to Best ROI Media LLC. Chess puzzles come from the Lichess puzzle database, released into the public domain (CC0). Fonts and other open-source components are used under their own licenses, listed in the app’s settings. Chess itself belongs to everyone.

5. Updates and availability

We may update, change, or stop offering features of Chess Worlds. Some updates may be required to keep playing. We will not take away worlds or features you bought with Chess Worlds Forever while we continue to offer the app, except where needed for legal, security, or technical reasons.

6. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Chess Worlds is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Best ROI Media LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or progress, and our total liability for any claim related to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence requires otherwise.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will revise the date above. Continuing to use Chess Worlds after a change means you accept the updated terms.
